GDI Solutionz has successfully hosted the second edition of its annual Ghana Youth Tech Summit at the Accra Digital Centre, under the theme “Leveraging Technology for Social Impact.”
The event aimed to equip young people, particularly those outside formal education systems, with essential digital skills and tools to drive meaningful societal change by providing valuable opportunities for collaboration, networking, and community learning to leverage on digital innovations to address pressing challenges.
During the summit, Lebanon’s Ambassador to Ghana, Maher Kheir, delivered a keynote address emphasising the transformative power of technology. He highlighted how technology can bridge divides, improve access to healthcare and education, combat climate change, and strengthen food security.
“Thoughtfully applied technology promotes social equity and resilience,” Ambassador Kheir stated. He cited renewable energy solutions and mobile apps developed by young innovators as examples of impactful tools that empower underserved communities and improve lives.
Moreover, the ambassador emphasised the ethical use of technology, urging innovators to avoid using it for conflict or destruction.
“Use technology to heal and uplift. Engage with diverse communities, understand their needs, and prioritise collaboration, inclusivity, and ethical responsibility in your projects,” he advised.
Furthermore, organisers encouraged participants to embrace innovation and adapt to the rapidly evolving technological landscape.
“Through training and mentorship, we are building a community of tech-savvy youth ready to pursue careers, address societal issues, and develop impactful solutions,” they stated.
Ultimately, the summit continues to inspire Ghanaian youth to harness technology’s potential, solve societal challenges, and build a sustainable future.
