Ghanaian comic actor Koo Fori, known privately as Samuel Seth Kwabena Kyere Karikari, has maintain not guilty to defrauding a US-based Ghanaian of $50,000 and has been bail ₵320,000 with three sureties after being impose with defrauding under false pretences.
Police sources reveal that the actor allegedly received the funds from a California-based complainant under the guise of facilitating a genuine investment opportunity. However, he reportedly failed to honour the agreement and went into hiding.
After several unsuccessful attempts to recover the money, the victim, who remains anonymous, reported the matter to the authorities. Investigators later found that Koo Fori not only defaulted on repayment but also ignored a court summons scheduled for April 17, 2025, at the Dansoman District Court. His failure to appear led to the issuance of a bench warrant for his arrest.
