Ghana Football Association (GFA) Executive Council member Frederick Acheampong has stated that Ghana’s primary objective at the 2026 FIFA World Cup is to advance beyond the group stage.
In an interview, Acheampong explained the team’s preparations and clearly informed newly appointed head coach Carlos Queiroz of the target ahead.
“Our target is to reach the knockout stage of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. We believe Carlos Queiroz understands that objective. Queiroz, who assumed office in April following the departure of Otto Addo in March, has also reaffirmed Ghana’s ambition of progressing from the group stage. At the end of 270 minutes, we have to qualify for the second round.”
The Black Stars aim to reach the World Cup knockout phase for the first time since 2010 and will face Panama, England, and Croatia in Group L.
