Nigerian Afrobeats musician Davido has urged young people to remain committed to their faith and maintain a strong relationship with God amid the distractions that come with fame and success.
In an interview, the award-winning artiste reflected on how some celebrities, particularly Christians, stop attending church and drift away from their faith after achieving success.
“My advice for young boys with big dreams is, first of all, believe in yourself. I worked on my craft so much. I loved music so much that I just wanted to get better every time. When I was young, I was learning from YouTube and the people around me. However, don’t lose sight of your spiritual values.”
Further, he stressed that while commitment and hard work are crucial to achieving success, staying connected to God remains equally important after reaching one’s goals.
“Secondly, love what you do and put God first and close, especially when you make it, because there are so many distractions that can make you forget He is the reason you are here,” Davido added.
This follows the trending issues that fame and success often come with challenges that cause individuals to forget the source of their blessings.
