Lawyers for Patricia Asiedua Asiamah, popularly known as Nana Agradaa, have filed a notice of appeal challenging her 15-year prison sentence handed down by the Circuit Court.
Lead counsel Richard Asare Baffour confirmed that they have petitioned the High Court to overturn both the conviction and the sentence, describing the ruling as unreasonable and unsupported by the evidence.
“We filed the appeal this morning because the judgement is clearly flawed, and the trial itself was legally unsound, We believe the judge showed manifest bias by harassing and intimidating the accused.”
Further, Asare Baffour also disclosed plans to file a bail application in the coming days to secure Nana Agradaa’s temporary release while the appeal is under review.
Justice Evelyn Asamoah convicted Nana Agradaa on July 3 on charges of defrauding by false pretence and charlatanic advertisement.
