The Ministry of Sports and Recreation has set up a high-level committee to lead Ghana’s preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup after the Black Stars secured qualification.
At the inauguration, the minister indicated that the committee will take charge of all football-related planning while also ensuring that Ghana maximises the tournament’s cultural, economic, and diplomatic opportunities.
“The committee will oversee the nation’s preparations for the Mundial and ensure Ghana benefits socially, culturally, and economically.
Further, the committee will handle all financial, administrative, operational, logistical, and regulatory arrangements needed for the Black Stars’ preparation, participation, and expected performance at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.In addition, beyond the team’s performance, the committee will also coordinate cultural, trade, tourism, bilateral, and multilateral initiatives aimed at promoting Ghana’s image and development.”
