Vice President Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang has revealed that the government is ensuring that essential public services operate efficiently under its flagship 24-Hour Economy policy.
Addressing the 14th AGI Ghana Industry and Quality Awards on November 29, 2025, she stated that the 24-hour economy is already boosting youth employment and productivity in pilot areas, including the Tema Light Manufacturing Belt, port regulatory agencies, courts, and licensing bodies.
“In pilot zones like the Tema Light Manufacturing Belt, 24-hour operations have significantly increased output and created more night-shift jobs for young people. To sustain this progress, we are working to deliver critical public services around the clock. We plan for ports, regulatory agencies, courts, and licensing bodies to keep pace with the continuous demands of our industrial cycle,” she said.
Further, Professor Opoku-Agyemang added that the government is driving value addition in the agricultural and pharmaceutical sectors to strengthen Ghana’s global competitiveness.
