Parliament of Ghana has approved GH¢9.8 billion for the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund) in 2026 to finance projects and programs across the education sector.
From the allocation, Parliament directed GH¢4.2 billion to the Free Senior High School policy and GH¢1.5 billion to the tertiary sub-sector. Of the tertiary amount, GH¢300 million will fund continuing students under the GETFund scholarship scheme and support new sponsorships for students studying locally and abroad.
The 2026 GETFund formula also allocates GH¢230 million to complete basic school infrastructure projects and GH¢310 million to construct new educational facilities.
