The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has announced that it will hold a National Thanksgiving Service after the successful conduct of its presidential primary on January 31, 2026.
In a statement issued on Monday, February 9, the party said the thanksgiving service seeks to thank God for the smooth and orderly conduct of the exercise.
“Following the successful conduct of the New Patriotic Party’s presidential primary held on January 31, 2026, the party will hold a national Thanksgiving service to express its profound gratitude to the Almighty God for a peaceful and historic exercise,” the statement said.
Further,
“The Party’s Presidential Candidate will grace the National Thanksgiving Service, which will bring together Christian and Muslim clergy, party leaders, current and former Members of Parliament, former Ministers, former CEOs/MDs, MDEs, and other former government appointees”
The internal contest ended with former Vice President and the party’s 2024 flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, securing 56.48 percent of the votes, as party officials described the process as peaceful, credible, and transparent.
