Former NPP flagbearer hopeful Kennedy Ohene Agyapong has urged the party’s leadership to confront internal challenges head-on ahead of the 2028 general elections.
Addressing the NPP Constituency Chairmen Caucus in Kumasi on Saturday, Agyapong stressed that the party’s survival and future electoral success depend on its willingness to be honest and resolve the deep-seated issues undermining unity.
“I engaged my fellow party leaders on the urgent need to address internal challenges and unite for a stronger, more focused party ahead of the next general election,” he stated.
He revealed that although the party has received internal assessments on its current state, many members continue to pretend they understand the root causes of the discontent.
“We’ve received the results, yes. But those who claim they know what’s causing the divisions—I challenge them. We don’t know, and that’s the bitter truth. My hope is that we approach this moment with clarity, courage, and a deep commitment to doing what’s best for the NPP,”
