The Manhyia Palace has confirmed that it has postponed the much-anticipated Bawku peace talks due to unresolved issues surrounding the region’s chieftaincy dispute.
The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, who is leading the mediation effort, had scheduled the talks to begin on Monday, April 28, and continue through to May 1. However, sources say the complexities of the conflict have forced a temporary delay.
Although the Palace has not announced a new date, it remains committed to facilitating dialogue as part of broader national efforts to restore calm and lasting peace in Bawku.
