“Lamine Yamal’s Second-Place Finish Is a Moral Injustice” – Father

Written by Yad Media

Mounir Nasraoui, father of FC Barcelona star Lamine Yamal, has criticised the Ballon d’Or decision, describing his son’s second-place finish as a serious moral injustice.

In an interview cited by YADTV, Nasraou expressed shock over the outcome and argued that Yamal deserved to win the award ahead of French winger Ousmane Dembélé.

“I think this is the biggest—I won’t say theft—but moral damage done to a human being because I believe Lamine Yamal is the best player in the world by far, by a huge margin,” he said. “It’s not because he’s my son but because he’s the best player in the world. I believe there are no rivals. Lamine is Lamine Yamal. Something very strange has happened here. Next year there will be a Spanish Ballon d’Or winner.”

Yamal, who recently turned 18, made a historic jump in the rankings, climbing into the top three after finishing eighth last year. However, he ultimately lost out to his fellow countryman, Ousmane Dembélé.
