Ghanaian musician Kuami Eugene has revealed that he rarely receives credit for the many songs he has written for other artists in the industry.
In an interview, the hitmaker expressed frustration at being sidelined, even when he expected recognition to follow naturally after the songs gained popularity.
“There are songs I wrote where I thought they’d do the right thing eventually, but they didn’t. But if I go after all of them, people will paint me as the bad guy.”
Further, Kuami Eugene added that although he initially ignored many of these situations, he has now resolved to hold such artists accountable through legal means.
“I’ve taken action against some of them—like Mr. Drew. Others, I just let go. But now, it’s no longer a game. We’re working. If this is the hook and I wrote it, what’s my share? Put it here. My lawyer will call you,” he warned.
