“Ghana Has Sufficient Power Capacity ” – Energy Minister

Written by Yad Media

Energy Minister John Jinapor has stated that Ghana has enough electricity generation capacity to meet national demand and is not undergoing load shedding.

In a Facebook post on Friday, January 30, the minister disclosed that he met with leaders of key power sector agencies to review the current state of electricity supply nationwide.

“Ghana has gone more than 10 months without load shedding and is not facing any power generation deficit. However, some parts of Accra and Kumasi have experienced frequent power outages. These outages are due to operational challenges within the system and not because of insufficient power generation,” he explained.

He further reaffirmed the government’s commitment to delivering reliable and uninterrupted electricity to all Ghanaians and assured the public that authorities are working swiftly to resolve the operational challenges.
