Ghana has laid to rest six of the eight victims of the August 6 helicopter crash in a solemn burial ceremony at the Military Cemetery in Tse Addo, Greater Accra Region.
The day began with an interfaith funeral service at Black Star Square, where mourners paid emotional tributes to the fallen, and tears flowed freely in honour of their service to the nation.
During the service, President John Dramani Mahama announced the creation of an Educational Children’s Support Fund to finance the education of the victims’ children from primary to university level.
In addition, he also conferred posthumous promotions on Squadron Leader Peter Bafemi Anala, Flying Officer Manin Twum-Ampadu, and Sergeant Ernest Addo Mensah of the Ghana Air Force, recognising their dedication and sacrifice.
