Foreign Affairs Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has announced that Ghana and Qatar are working swiftly to finalise a labour mobility agreement that will create opportunities for thousands of skilled young Ghanaians.
In a social media post, he noted that both nations are strengthening diplomatic relations, expanding trade, enhancing strategic security cooperation, and advancing joint efforts in conflict mediation—all aimed at boosting job creation.
“We also agreed to simplify visa procedures to make it easier for people and goods to move between our countries, a measure expected to increase the use of the direct flights already operating between Ghana and Qatar,” he added.
The minister is currently in Qatar on an official visit at the invitation of the Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs, His Excellency Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim bin Jaber Al Thani.
