Ghana’s Minister of Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, expressed optimism that Ghana could one day co-host the FIFA World Cup with Nigeria and Côte d’Ivoire.
Speaking to the media, Adams said that as FIFA increasingly allows multiple nations to host the tournament together, Ghana, Nigeria, and Côte d’Ivoire might jointly organise a future World Cup.
He highlighted that the three countries already have a strong foundation for managing major international competitions.
“Together with Nigeria and Côte d’Ivoire, who have invested significantly by hosting AFCON, we can make a strong case to host,” he added.
With the 2026 World Cup set for the USA, Mexico, and Canada, and the 2030 tournament planned for Morocco, Spain, and Portugal, Adams envisions West Africa as a potential next region to stage the prestigious event jointly.
