Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin has urged President John Dramani Mahama to cement his legacy by halting National Security raids on the homes of former state institution heads.
Speaking at a press conference on Thursday, March 20, he denounced what he called intimidation and attacks disguised as national security operations.
“President Mahama, leave a legacy. Let history remember that, despite past excesses in executive power, you chose to make a change. Own that legacy. “We have had enough of the intimidation, attacks, and hypocrisy,” he declared.
His remarks followed a raid on the private residence of former Bank of Ghana Governor Dr Ernest Addison. According to reports, , Director of Special Operations at the National Security Secretariat, Richard Jakpa led about 20 armed men in the operation, which took place in the early hours of Wednesday, March 19, 2025.
