Ghanaian rapper Kofi Mole has stressed that Ghanaian music holds massive potential but suffers because of disunity and poor industry collaboration.
In an interview, Mole voiced his frustration with the current state of the local music scene, stating that Ghana’s music industry should be far more successful than it is now, but he believes something has gone wrong.
“The industry’s move away from Azonto cost us our biggest opportunity. The genre had the potential to become Ghana’s globally recognized sound and cultural identity, but the industry abandoned it too quickly causing Artists to work in isolation and no longer feel a strong sense of industry unity.”
