The High Court has dismissed an application by former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta seeking to nullify an arrest warrant issued by the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP).
Mr. Ofori-Atta had asked the court to invalidate the warrant and halt all related enforcement measures, including the OSP’s request for an Interpol Red Notice. His lawyers argued that the OSP exceeded its legal and procedural authority.
However, in a ruling delivered on Thursday, the presiding judge ruled that the application lacked merit and upheld the OSP’s actions as valid.
The ruling marks the latest development in the OSP’s ongoing investigation into Mr. Ofori-Atta over alleged procurement breaches and mismanagement of public funds during his tenure.
The former minister has repeatedly failed to honour invitations from the OSP, citing medical treatment abroad. In June, the OSP declared him wanted and initiated steps to involve Interpol.
