President of the Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA), Abraham Kotei Neequaye, has resigned from his position, citing personal reasons.
In a statement released by GBA Communications Director Mohammed Amin Lamptey, Mr. Neequaye expressed his appreciation for the opportunity to lead the Authority, noting that the experience and lessons gained during his tenure would shape his future endeavours.
“I am incredibly grateful for the opportunities I’ve had as GBA President. I truly value the insights I’ve gained, and I believe they will guide me going forward,” he stated.
Further, he also acknowledged the challenges he faced, including periods of intense public criticism that tested his leadership.
Mr. Neequaye will officially step down on Friday, June 27, 2025, after formally announcing his resignation at a 10:00 a.m. press conference at the GBA Secretariat.
